"A
BETTER DAY "
--
I returned to my parent's home in Cincinnati for the last days of my mother's
life. Two days before the funeral, my aunt Patricia Heit -- my mother's
younger sister -- came into my room and said: "You ARE going to sing
a song at your mother's funeral, aren't you?" Um.... After she left,
I got out my notebook, then my guitar. This song resulted. Joanne Marie
Thesing Imbrogno died at Hospice of Cincinnati after a long bout with
Alzheimer's. All songs by Douglas Imbrogno (except 'Lights' by Rebecca Skeen Webb, 'Rosie's Lullaby,' by Bob Webb and 'Scarborough Fair,' traditional) Copyright 2004.

BETTER
DAY
Into
the heavens, into the air... CHORUS:
Long
has been the journey, hard has been the road.
I wish that you had never had to carry such a load. Now
that you are free to go, now as you depart, CHORUS:
Thank
you for the gifts All
those seeds you planted, CHORUS:
OUTRO:
